"The Art and Science of Water" mural
The 16 foot mixed media mural I designed and then created with 23 Grade 1-4 students was part of Water Celebration Day at Cranston Elementary; the culmination of student inquiry work over the course of the 2012/2013 year. Oil pastel, acrylic, watercolour paper/paint, drywall compound, glass and mirror, polished pebbles, tissue paper, raffia on canvas.
The "Pleasantree"
Collaborative Grade 1 project. Students created textured paper for tree and helped me decide how to build its solid internal structure. Classes created leaves through printmaking and faux alcohol ink painting techniques on transluscent Yupo paper.
